What type of organization is Policy Work Groups?
Citizen Policy Work Groups is a master’s student project to determine whether increasing citizen equity relative to special interests and their value when it comes to lawmaker policy decisions is possible. If the test proves viable, it is our hope to see it evolve into a grassroots policy network where affected citizens as stakeholders, bureaucrats and lawmakers can interact and engage with the goal of solving public policy problems — together.

What geographic areas does Citizen Policy Work Groups currently serve?
Citizen Policy Work Groups is in concept test mode in Colorado focused on a select few state policies.
What policy areas are covered by the groups?
We are addressing and tracking the Colorado Commission on Criminal & Juvenile Justice, online marketplaces for rural economic development, the alcohol abuse and opioid crisis in Colorado, along with various other legislative updates as citizen Policy Work Groups evolves. Because this is a student project, most of the posts and updates are on public policy issues being studied or impacted by the student at this time.
Do Policy Work Groups meet in person or online or both?
Group meetings and forums are online via this website so that people can engage at times that work best for them. The 24/7 online access format allows for maximum inclusion.
