Citizen-Driven Networked Policy Work Groups
The goal for independent citizen-driven Policy Work Groups is to increase the magnitude and value of affected citizen inputs relative to special interest groups when it comes to public policy. Small regional citizen-driven Policy Work Groups focused on specific policy areas for the purpose of identifying problems, taking the time to work through solutions, and presenting them to lawmakers on behalf of the group might, we hope, based on economic analysis, increase the quantity and value of citizen voters represented in the Policy Work Group’s inputs.
The chart below is a simplified structure to demonstrate the concept. There would be more regions and more policy areas of course.

Student Project to Equitize Citizen Inputs in Public Policy Decisions
Developed by a policy entrepreneur graduate student in the Masters of Public Policy program at the University of Colorado School of Public Affairs, citizen Policy Work Groups are the test extension of a student project in economics. The groups are to be independent citizen-driven working groups that can be created and networked across regions, states, and the nation for sharing, comparing and contrasting impacts and proposed solutions as valued inputs rather than too-small-to-matter inputs when it comes to lawmaker priorities.
Policy Work Groups Test Status
The student, based in Western Colorado, created this website as a concept demonstration. The topics and updates are based on public policy projects and research she is working on or tracking. Other scholars, legislators, bureaucrats, experts, affected citizens are encouraged to contribute and engage in a respectful solutions focused dialogue, so please reach out using the Contact form. For this concept to work, it must be a safe space to engage.
If you are outside Colorado and are interested in forming a citizen Policy Work Group test in your area, please contact us directly via the Contact page as we would be thrilled to have more than one test running and happy to add you to the network and to this website.
